Map It is an online tool that can be helpful in finding where an item is located or discovering where specific subjects are located on the shelves in Holland & Terrell and Owen Libraries. You can access Map It in the physical item's Search It record or under Highlighted Resources on the Libraries' homepage.

You can use Map It in several ways:

Finding where an item is located through its Search It record

If a physical item is located in Holland & Terrell or Owen, you'll notice an icon for Map It. Clicking this icon will take you to a page that displays the call number, stack number, and a map of the floor to help you locate the item on the shelf.

Finding the location of books on a specific topic

If you're interested in browsing what books we have on a certain topic (example: finance books), you can use Map It to find where that section is located. Select the main subject, then the more specific section you're looking for. The map will update to show the correct location and highlight where the stacks are located on that floor.

Finding where an item is located based on the call number

At the top of the Map It page, there is a search box to 'Search by Call Number'. Entering the item's call number will update the map to show which floor and shelf number the item is located on. The map will update to highlight where the shelf is located.
