Finding e-books
We have many e-books that are searchable via Search It. E-books have book icons and links that say either Online Access or Full Text Available. To search specifically for e-books, you can limit your search to WSU Online Resources, using menu options on the left-hand side of the Search It screen, and then limit to e-books, also a menu option on the left side of the Search It screen. Our e-books will require that you log in using your WSU Net ID and password (the same as your myWSU or email login).
More detailed information on how to use these e-book collections is located in the following online guide:
Two main e-book collections you may wish to search are ProQuest EBook Central and EbscoHost eBook Collection. They too require that you sign in.
Requesting ebooks
If you need an e-book in place of a print copy, request it via Search It. We will try to borrow one, however, copyright issues and delivery problems may prevent us from obtaining the electronic version. If we are unsuccessful, we will try to get a paper copy of the title. If you definitely require an e-book, please place a note in the Note field in your request stating that you must have an e-book.
If you know exactly what chapter you need out of an e-book, it is often easier to get one as a pdf as they rarely violate copyright and, being smaller, are more easily delivered. If this is the case, please request a scanned chapter (you will see this option on the left side of the screen when logged into Search It).
